So I was once told by a wise man. "We are always becoming." I though becoming what? He then said, "That's just it - we never arrive at one destination. We are always changin and a soon as you get to a new place - you go somewhere else."
So what is sAMPLE tHE mARTIAN becoming? Well that's the real question isn't it. There is a new wave of demos on its way. 4 songs some people have heard. 2 previously released songs are new and improved with an added verse . . . and finally but not least . . . 3 totally new songs that have never been heard by anyone that hasn't slept with eMpyre. I'll leave that to your imagination. . . and no . . . sleeping with him does not get you a sneak preview.
These songs are hot like Salsa Picante.
Also the Artificial Intelligence that eMpyre started working on in 2005 is starting to show promise. It can ask questions and place value on its answers related to its existence. In case anyone is wondering this value has 65,536 different incriments. It also has moods displayed bye multi-colored LEDs based on its overall likelyhood of survival. It should have an online interface so you can interact with it within a year or two. . . if the government doesn't shut us down.

So if anyone was wondering about my disapearance. . . I was REALLY depressed. I lost my job and lost it. Had to check myself into a psych ward. A college professor told me once - if you can ever afford the time to do it - just do it to observe. Well boy did I observe.
Now I and am now thousands of dollars behind on my bills. I had to move out of my apartment. I'm facing court hearings for not paying my rent.
I am still feeling sedated. I have been working on songs to pep myself up. Keep on the lookout for nibbles and bytes of stuff.

eMpyre has been driven underground. As per usual I found a way to steal some of his shit and post it.
Its an excerpt from piece with a working title, "Atmospheric Pressure"

So I did some more updates to the webpage layout. I wouldn't say I'm satisfied - but it at least looks amateur now. I also fixed some of the downloads. I have some songs I need to post. Still working on new material. (Moo-Ha-Ha)

As per last post. I am doing some webpage re-design. Bear with me as I figure out how the old page was put together.

So Sample the Martian has a new bootleg CD coming out within the next 90 days I'd say. There have been preliminary leaks of it but the final project isn't done. So far there is going to be an electronic cat (dude) from Pittsburgh appearing on there. The project is called Arabb. White Kollar is also dropping a song on there as well.
Empyre's voice has been out from strep throat for the past week and that is delaying progress on the live show demo.
But alas we are still trying to book shows.
Also expect an overhaul on the webpage one of these days.

For those of you who haven't checked the galacticdust.com page there are 3 Sample the Martian live shows coming up in October. eMpyre is also going to perform at a house party in Hazel Park.

After a bunch of crazy events in my life and some minor success with Untyin' Lost Souls and
other ventures with galactic dust records it is time for eMpyre, Drip and 327 a.k.a "groovin" Reuben
Martinez to release a (mostly) dedicated CD. So far Sample the Martian has appeared on 2 compilations
and a bootleg CD.
The new Sample the Martian CD will be a 5-7 song EP (maybe more if I feel like it) with a few bonus tracks
from friends of the group. It will be available cheap. Look for it around early '06.
If you are a fan... don't expect anything too new. Its more or less a leap to find and develop
an audience dedicated to Sample the Martian instead of supporters of the label (Galactic Dust).
I have been watching Deep Space 9 lately. Odo is the bomb. Kira is a bitch. Dax is cute.
Also catching up on comic books.
Looking forward to the new Atmosphere album.

As per the post on June 17th. Here are some of the pictures of our
equipment in the buildings. We have a lot of bugs to work out but once
we get all the modules to talk to each other effectively we will start to do some wicked stuff with the AI
programming.
More tech than you can shake a light saber at, eh?
I guess I am starting to update more often now. More to come.

Vagabond Jedi Pimp Studio is now up and running. It isn't 100% operational
but it is getting there.
Often people ask what Sample the Martian means. One of its many meanings reflects using alien technology
and using it to engineer everything from quantum nuclear electronics to musical instruments. We have
a telepathy system based on wet-wired cell phones to name one specific device.
Stay tuned and whet your ear apetites for some new tracks.

This has been a busy year. Now that many things are falling into place,
Sample the Martian is moving on to multiple projects. The compilation(s)
are still in the works. A new album in in the works.
Also, a research grant has been procurred to begin work on the artificial intelligence that will become
DRIP. DRIP is not a clever acronym or anything. Its just a name. We are setting up shop in some
undisclosed abandanded buildings and after the security system is in place we will begin installing
the first 27 machine neural network. We will be experimenting with "intelligent"
algorithms and working towards completing a computer program that will allow said computer
network to learn without provocation.

I guess my plan to update more often sucks.
As I've noticed per tracking devices the "Sample the Martian"
site has less readership than the "Galactic Dust" webpage. That
being said I will break this news here first.
Galactic Dust and eMpyre of Sample the Martian are working on
their 3rd compilation rumored to be collaborative masterpiece.
The theme is in its preliminary phases but dozens of artists both
past favorites and bold new blood have already been invited. We have
ideas for artwork and even a title but that will be revealed at a later time.
Recently we've beat Resident Evil 3 and have 1 or 2 more runs throught the "Mercenaries" sub-game until we have all the unlimited
weapons for the second run through the game.
eMpyre and Drip have been reading the ongoing Star Wars comic book
that takes fills the gaps between Episodes I, II, and III. The Clone
Wars issues are dope. Its awesome to see Anikan and Obi-Wan kick ass as best friends.

Gonna try and do updates more frequently now.
I noticed that one of the new villians in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith is General
Grevious. Can't help but think of the grand devious.
Just over a month before it comes
out. I'm not in a costume waiting in line.
Been playing the Megaman Collection for PS2. They re-released Megaman I-VII. I've
beat I, II, III, IV and V. Some of the music in those games is really good.

Sample the Martian has got some hate mail:
"Tell those fakes its not a computer lifestyle, its not about spaceships,
or intergalactic beings, or "martians". your raps are childs play."
What this means is that enough people know about the shit to hate on it.
People that I'm not telling directly are finding out about Galactic Dust and Sample the Martian.
I don't care if you talk shit... just keep on talkin about us.
In the works: A single/EP. Sample the Martian is going to release
at least one new song with a handful of older released and un-released
material. The quality will be much better though.
Also in the works is a new sticker since the old one is doing so well. I'm probably
going to work on some other propaganda too.
My major goal however is to start doing shows.

I am becomming green again from lack
of focused sunlight. Too many clouds, too much ice
and not enough sledding.
The news is this. I have hooked up with an MC/DJ/Beatmaker named White Kollar. We
are currently working
on some new songs as well as some old favorites to do live. I expect we will be ready for a rough ass live
show in about 6 weeks - "but don't quote me boy 'cause I ain't said shit"
Also Sample the Martian is getting support and airplay from Dearborn's own WHFR - "the only
station making waves"
Finally - I'm not sure who - but someone is doing Sample much justice by adorning objects
such as street signs, stoplight boxes, various poles and such with the tremendously beautiful Sample the Martian
stickers that were printed last fall. The sticker features the amazingly talented and almost famous 100 point invader.
This illusive 100 point invader is making a Pulp Fiction career saving comeback thanks to this gracious
street team junkie. Keep your eyes peeled in parking lots and intersections near you ...and beware the invader.
Sample out...

After doing the Grammy panel review I ended up with a lot of ideas on how to pursue the new album. I kind of realized that the DIY line drawn in the sand by the "popular music business" is farther away from me than I though.
I continue to make progress on Mutants Humans and Robotrons.
I've been re-watching Freakylinks and thinking about posting an episode guide and "transforming" the sAMPLE tHE mARTIAN website.
The Incredibles comes out this Friday along with the teaser trailer for Episode III.
I'm 97% done with SSX 3 now wishing there were a walkthrough to help me with some of the super freakin hard parts.

Yes - now available Sample The Martian T-shirts and Stickers.
Also wanted to mention some things about new material. I'm still working on Selfmade Loner but I think I'll have the Mutants Humans and Robotrons EP done first. I have 2 songs that I KNOW will be on there. They are Life Preserver and Shivering Mold. The beat for Shivering Mold is a beat done by the grand devious who I'm supposed to credit under a different name to differentiate his style.

I've been working the bugs out of the home studio and talking with producers here and there for the new album. The song I've been working on right now is Life Preserver. I'm actually pretty proud of what I have so far. There are still a few weeks worth of work to do on it.
Other songs for sure going to be on there are: "The T-Virus" (melody version), a newer version of "Full Bore" with a 3rd verse, Atmospheric Pressure (Landing Gear), "Insides Shredding" (featuring music by the grand devious) and probably "Heal Me."
This week "Resident Evil 2" comes out. =)
Next week "Ghost In The Shell 2" comes out =) =)

My computer is finally back up and running. I feel like its the Millennium Falcon... its fast and powerful as hell - especially with the right pilot but its always needing some sort of repair and tweaking.
I am working on the new Sample The Martian CD. Its going to be roughly 7-8 tracks with work done by yours truly. The rest of it will be good friends of mine or people that fit the theme. I'm really being selective on who gets to be on this disc. If they don't satisfy a large number of criteria that I have - better luck next time. For sure I see Lofi Honey, the grand devious. Potential help are Tighe Philly, Chuck Rhythm, ninetwelve, Ghoulie, JOB, Kraig Tertzag... Artwork looks like it will be done by Chase.
Also considering doing collaborations with Darkstarz and Intricate Dialect.
I should have enough songs written/recorded to do a b-side album ala Atmosphere's Sad Clown Bad Dub 2. Very excellent album if you liked God Loves Ugly and Lucy Ford.

is more song type stuff.
Here is the version with vocals that will be re-done when I get a soundcard worth using.

The webpage is going to get slightly re-vamped. Mostly so that people know that this is a different website from g-dust. Also because posting news on both of them is often redundant. I'm going to try and restrict news only posting new mp3's of work in progress. Some may only be available for a few weeks at a time...
